Where Westport Meets the World

Share the Pie with Homes with Hope and TCS

Each year the Social Action Committee of TCS  sponsors Share the Pie (STP) to raise funds for Homes with Hope, a Westport-based organization devoted to addressing the needs and challenges of homeless individuals and families, and people at risk of becoming homeless in Westport and Fairfield County.  Proceeds also fund Social Action/Tikkun Olam efforts throughout the year.
How can you help? In addition to buying pies for your own friends and families to enjoy, please consider bringing STP into your place of business. If you employ others, or are employed by someone who would be willing to buy pies for their co-workers, please share this order form with them. As an alternative, please consider sending this order form throughout your office so that your co-workers can order their own pies directly.
 Thank you!

A Chorus Jam, benefit concert

Organized by Staples High School senior, Oliver Smith, A Chorus Jam is a festive evening of song, featuring Staples’ own Orphenians combined with the diverse talents of three of Yale’s famous singing groups—the all-women New Blue, all-men Spizzwinks? and the African-American inflected Shades of Yale.    All four groups will entertain with their own special blend of music and showmanship.

The evening is for a very good cause.   It will benefit St. John’s Childcare Center, a non-denominational day care provider of much needed services for inner city children, focusing on the childcare needs of single parents.    The concert’s specific goal is to raise seed money to establish a food program that will be funded going forward by the Connecticut Child and Adult Care Food Program.

The fun will take place at 7:30 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 768 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT  06604.  Tickets at the door or at achorusjam.eventbrite.com—adults $20, students $15 and children under 12 $10.
