Compo Beach cannon.

Does anyone know about the origins of the Compo Beach cannon.  All I have been able to gather is that they were given to the town sometime around 1903  but other than that don't know ie: where they were made, when, and what location they came from before landing in Wesport?  I grew up in thw town and spent my whole summers at the beach as a young'n.

   THX,   Bill Sowik
