HALSTEAD HELPING HANDS – WESTPORT’S COMMUNITY INITIATIVES!

Posted by Shannon McAvoy on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:07 PM

Some of you may  know that Halstead Property, located at 379 Post Road East (next to CVS) started  awareness and pay forward campaigns in March with the March Madness Basketball collection led by Kecia Von der Ahe. The Westport/Fairfield Minuteman included us in their Community News section and we gathered 16 basketballs. The Carver Center in Norwalk and the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport were so grateful and appreciative to receive them.

In April, our Prom Attire collection, led by Barbara Reynolds, netted an enormous response from both within our office and more importantly from residents who saw our postings on social media pages and brought in dresses and suits from Westport, Easton and Fairfield! Over 14 racks of dresses and boys attire were given . Word is getting out into the community!

In May, we featured National Dog Month and Mark Gilrain ran with a Give A Dog A Home theme.  On May 7th, Mark and our agent volunteers set up a station in our back parking lot and greeted dog owners as they made their way to the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce Dog Festival.  We raffled a dog step and donated to the CT Humane Society based in completed contracts during the month of May. Thanks to all – and to Bobbie Abagnale who baked special dog buscuits and Eileen Lawrence who manned the table during the Festival.

And NOW – we are collecting food for students at Norwalk Community College because hunger doesn’t stop in High School. We want our student to succeed! Shannon McAvoy is leading our initiative and is an active advocate for these students. Our colleagues in the Wilton office are participating along with us this month as well.

If you are moving, know someone who is, or just cleaning out your pantry, please donate your non-expired dry goods. Grocery store gift cards in any amount are gratefully accepted.

Help get the word out!!

HALSTEAD AGENTS ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITIES WE LIVE AND WORK IN.
