The American Marketing Association-Fairfield County Advance Yourself program series will host The Buzz on the CannaBIZNESS, presented by Mediassociates, on April 24th at Earthplace – The Nature Discovery Center in Westport, CT. The event will feature two educational panel discussions with thought leaders from state government, investment banking, brand marketing and technology. An industry networking event will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by a state of the industry panel discussion at 6:30 p.m. A second panel focused on brand marketing will begin at 8pm. Currently there are 34 states, including CT, with legal medical marijuana programs and 10 states plus Washington DC with legal adult use cannabis. Proponents suggest that the U.S. momentum, combined with a fully legal Canada, indicates that prohibition can end here in a matter of time. The economic and social impact of cannabis will be significant. Wall Street’s top cannabis analyst, Vivien Azer, projects $80 billion dollars in US cannabis sales by 2030. According to CannabusinessPlan.com, legal marijuana sales are expected to reach $25 billion dollars by 2021, with 63% of sales from the recreational side of the business. From a medical perspective, the state of CT notes there are currently 33,000 medical patients registered and 1,000 physicians treating certified patients here as of today.
